
Kathmandu : One of Nepal’s greatest literary figure, educationist, and social reformer Sardar Rudra Raj Pande’s 125th birth anniversary was celebrated with grandeur at SAIM College, Old Baneshwor. The event, organized by the Rudra Raj Sahitya Sewa Samiti, honoring his immense contributions to literature, education, and social transformation. On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Gargi Sharma was felicitated for her outstanding contributions to Nepali literature.
Chief Guest Dr. Gauri Shankar Lal Das emphasized that Sardar Rudra Raj Pande’s legacy is a cornerstone of Nepal’s literary and educational identity. He encouraged continued efforts in literature, education, and social reform inspired by Pande’s ideals.
Similarly, Patron Krishna Raj Pande shed light on Sardar Rudra Raj Pande’s impact on Nepali language, literature, and education, emphasizing how his visionary work continues to inspire generations.
Chairperson of the Award Selection Committee, Mrs. Hiranya Kumari Pathak, spoke about Prof. Dr. Gargi Sharma’s contributions to Nepali literature. Chief Guest Dr. Gauri Shankar Lal Das presented the award and praised Dr. Sharma’s dedication to Nepali language and literature. Dr. Gargi Sharma reflected on the current state of Nepali literature, highlighting challenges and opportunities for future generations.
There was a presentation as well by the Principal of Mauwadevi Higher Secondary School, Dakaha, Bara, requesting support for the school’s expansion, emphasizing Sardar Pande’s role in its establishment.
Additionally, top-performing students from Bhanu Secondary School (Durbar High School) were awarded scholarships, recognizing academic excellence and encouraging educational development.
Welcoming the attendees, Dr. Neil Pande, General Secretary of Rudra Raj Sahitya Sewa Samiti, announced that Sardar Pande’s works are now digitally available at www.roopmati.com.np, making his literary contributions accessible to modern audiences.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Badri Raj Pande, President of Rudra Raj Sahitya Sewa Samiti, urged future generations to embrace and uphold Sardar Pande’s legacy. He stressed the need to preserve and promote his contributions for the betterment of Nepali society.
