Nepal Win The Second Friendly Match Between Nepal and Mauritius

Nepal has won the second friendly match between Nepal and Mauritius 1-0 at Dasharath Stadium.

Sujal Shrestha of Nepal scored the decisive goal in the 10th minute of the match. Pujan Uparkoti backflicked the pass given by Ashish Lama to Navin Gurung’s corner kick.

Mauritius were awarded a penalty just minutes after Nepal took the lead. The penalty was saved by Nepal’s goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong. Mauritius were awarded a penalty after Nepal’s Dinesh Rajbanshi fouled Lance Brace inside the box.

Though the game was normal in the first half, the second half was tense. In the 71st minute, referee Navindra Maharjan showed red cards to Pujan Uparkoti of Nepal and Adrin Botler of Mauritius after a scuffle over fouling Anjan Bista. After that, both the teams were limited to 10 players.

Nepal’s goalkeeping coach Bikas Malla was also shown a red card. He also had to face a red card after entering the field and hitting the opposition with a few words.

Mauritius was limited to 9 players in 79 minutes. Emmanuel Fulchud of Mauritius was sent off for a second yellow card after tackling Gautam Shrestha of Nepal.

Four red cards were shown in the tense game.

Nepal had won the first friendly match 1-0 on Saturday. The winning goal was scored by Bimal Gharti Magar in the second half.
